At Movement Matters we are Physical Therapists who specialize in helping newborns through 18 month olds. Movement matters from the moment your baby enters this world. From touch, position, environment, and experience we can lay the foundations for optimal success. Gross motor development and its progression from newborn to infancy and beyond helps foster and stimulate the sensory, visual and vestibular systems. These key systems are needed to achieve major milestones. We believe in looking at the “whole child” and seeing the “big picture.” What we do literally will impact your child’s ability to read, write, and even throw a ball! We help set your baby up to meet these skills and it starts as early as infancy.

Our therapists utilize developmental pediatric physical therapy including neurodevelopmental techniques (NDT) to facilitate gross motor skills. Our physical therapists believe most in parent/caregiver education, activity modifications or adjustments, and home programming that can easily be integrated into your day to day life.

Our services are private which means out-of-pocket, however we do offer superbills to submit to your insurance company. We believe private physical therapy offers the most qualitative, flexible and personable experience in therapy for your child to meet the demands of your family’s current situation.

So Why the Private Services?

This boutique type PT service was created to help you navigate the first several months of motherhood feeling somewhat empowered and more engaged with your child’s development without the hassle of googling, blogging, and reading through several resources of various information from different people! Early identification of any gross motor delays will help fend off later needs and possible delays related to other disciplines including speech and occupational therapy.

Right now there is a huge epidemic in emotional, behavioral, sensory and auditory processing delays. We are here to help set the stage and hopefully lay the ground work to avoid or diminish such problems and difficulties related to these sub categories of development later on in early childhood. Let’s do everything we can to set up our youngest babies for success to meet their greatest potential!
